ACUPUNCTURE IN THE HEART OF WEST BERKSHIRE
Balance, Harmony, Wellbeing
CHRIS SWIATEK
Acupuncturist

B.Sc. (Hons) Lic. Ac. FEA practitioner. MBAA DipObsGyn
(affiliated with Kingston University)
I qualified as an acupuncturist with a B.Sc. (Hons) degree from the renowned College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading.

As well as this, I also trained with the esteemed Paul Adkins, obtaining a qualification in Facial Enhancement Acupuncture and have recently achieved a diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, again from the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine

I practice an integrated style of acupuncture. This combines Five Element Constitutional acupuncture, which focuses on treating the core of a person's identity and bringing balance and strength on a deeper level, and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), which is well suited to a wide range of physical and emotional problems.

A list of conditions that may be helped by acupuncture can found on the British Acupuncture Council website.
Prior to training to become an acupuncturist, I worked for many years as a nurse - most recently as a Nurse Practitioner in General Practice. My nursing background has given me insight, knowledge and professionalism to assist with a wide range of conditions.

My previous experience has inspired me to treat people in a much more holistic way and integrate principles drawn from Western and Chinese medicine to return my patients to optimum health.

I am fully licenced, insured and registered through the British Acupuncture Association (BAA) and complete 30 hours of Continuing Professional Development each year.
I practice acupuncture in Berkshire from a private treatment room at my home in Cold Ash, near Newbury.

ACUPUNCTURE
What is acupuncture?
Acupuncture dates back thousands of years and is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) system of healing which may help a person to achieve a more balanced physical and emotional state.

The Chinese discovered that the body has more than 2,000 acupuncture points connected by meridians carrying energy called Qi (pronounced chi). For a number of environmental or lifestyle reasons, these meridians can become blocked or disrupted, often resulting in pain or illness.

Acupuncture involves inserting fine, single-use, needles in to various points on or under the skin. The specific placement of the needles stimulates the acupuncture points, releasing the Qi. This energy is then free to travel through the meridians, helping restore balance, harmony and wellbeing.
